We have been working on the E-Twinning Project with classes 3B, 3C and 3D from Scuola Media Leonardo Da Vinci in Poggibonsi.
When we were asked to work on Step 1 "Who am I?" and find some interesting books to read with our students, our choice fell on “Harry
Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone” which has become the third best-seller book of all time.
Step 1 has taken three / four weeks to
be carried out.
WEEK 1: We invited students to read
some short extracts from chapters 1, 4 and 7 of the book and then answer to a
list of questions we prepared to check their comprehension.
WEEK 2: We focused on the “The Sorting
Hat” chapter. This is when students at Hogwarts magic school are sorted into
the four different houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. The
pages are interesting because the magic hat is able to do this “job” easily
enough by simply considering students’ personalities and matching them with the
qualities and values represented by each house. Our aim was to offer students a
good range of useful adjectives to be used to write their introductions on the blog page.
WEEK 3: Inspired by the readings students
were encouraged to introduce themselves on the blog page.
WEEK 4: We asked students to take a
quick QUIZ to find out which Hogwarts House they would be in.
Which Hogwarts House would you be in?
Let the Sorting Hat Quiz match your traits with the four houses of the wizarding world to find out which Hogwarts House you would be in.
Take this quiz and answer the questions to find out which of the four magical Hogwarts houses the Sorting Hat will put you in!
What is your result?
This is the result of the quiz taken by class 3C/D
Nice activities! Thank you for your great work and ideas. :)
