Dissemination activity - Szegedi Orczy István Általános Iskola, Hungary

On June 28, 2024, we gathered with children, parents, and librarians at the library for an important event. We met to talk about our reading adventures and experiences we shared throughout this school year. It was a great occasion for us to share the story of our "Stories to Heal - Reading for Wellbeing" project and its steps. We revisited important information related to the project, talked about our partners, the steps taken in the program, stories we read, online meetings, the anniversary of the eTwinning program, the common products, and the discovery of the path towards ourselves and our peers. The meeting was a great success. We thank our partners for great eTwinning experiences.

June the 6th, online meeting Hungary - Italy (IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio primary and secondary classes)

On June the 6th, the partner classes of Hungary and Italy (IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio) met to celebrate the end of the project and of the school year.

It was a fun, colorful, chatty (and pretty noisy!) meeting. We sang in a choir the national anthems of the different countries, we sang some popular songs about friendship, we danced, waved our flags (...and even discussed our readings, of course).

It was definitely one happy moment of reading & wellbeing at school.

Thank you everybody.

DISSEMINATION - OŠ RUDOLFA STROHALA LOKVE

The pinboard just outside the English classroom often offered up to date information about the project "Stories to heal - reading for wellbeing" to the teachers, students and visitors of our school. Here are two examples of recent collaborative activities on Step 4 of the project and the Day of Europe project:

I introduced our international project to all the teachers during one of our conferences and my students from classes 3-7 did the same to non-participating students of our school.

A detailed info about the project can also be found on our school website. Here is the link..DISSEMINATION CROATIA

E-Twinning "Stories to heal": Dissemination - IC2 Poggibonsi - Class 3C/D (Italy)

This has been my first time, I mean I had never taken part in an E-Twinning project before. We have worked hard throughout all the school year, but it was worth!!The title was "Stories to heal" that means it was focused on reading and on the importance of reading in the students' lifelong learning process.

Students were given meaningful stories and short  extracts to read and discuss. This has been very engaging and stimulating.

The project has been divided into 4 steps:

- STEP 1: "WHO AM I?" Students read "The Sorting Hat" chapter from Harry Potter; this is when studens at Hogwarts magic school are sorted into the four different houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each house represents values and qualities which should match students’ personalities. My aim was to offer students a good range of useful adjectives to be used to write their  introductions on the blog page.

- STEP 2: "WHAT IS INSIDE ME? MY FEARS AND HOPES" : Students were asked to write down their fears and hopes. We even had the possibility to arrange on line events and share them with our partners in Greece and Croatia.

- STEP 3: "ME AND THE OTHERS": Students read a meaninful story with the missing ending. They had to write down the missing final sentence and share their ideas on a shared presentation.

- STEP 4: "ME AND MY FUTURE": Students were given an empty orb to be filled in with three pictures representing their future in 10 years' time.

Working on this project has had a profound impact on my students:

  1. Cultural Awareness: Students have engaged with peers from different countries, learning about different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles.

  2. Language Skills: Communication with international partners has improved their language skills since students had the possibility to practice conversational skills and gain confidence in using foreign languages.

  3. Collaboration: E-Twinning has encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and project-based learning, where students could use their creativity and immagination.

  4. Digital Skills: Participants has used online tools, platforms, and communication channels and have developed the digital skills essential for the modern world.

  5. Friendships: E-Twinning has created friendships. Students and teachers have been connected beyond borders, sharing experiences and building lifelong relationships.

I can definitely say that E-Twinning has been an enriching educational experience which has conncetd students and teachers from all over Europe. Through online collaboration, we all have been engaged in joint projects, cultural exchanges, and shared learning.

STEP 4- ME AND MY FUTURE - SAINT JOSEPH PRIMARY SCHOOL-PEFKI**GREECE

After reading the text and watching the extract of the film with Professor Trelawney and Harry, they coloured and drew their orbs.

On the 31st of May our school had an OPEN HOUSE where there were a lot of events and one of them was our opportunity to show our European projects. Our 6th graders had made a lot of posters and crafts on European countries and afterwards a big march with the European flag. Please enjoy our parade!

DISSEMINATION

My three Greek colleague teachers made their own presentation about the European countries and then marched around the playground and showed all the European flags.Afterwards they enjoyed the treats their parents had brought  and danced traditional Greek dances with their teachers and parents...

We also posted our project in our Facebook school page and ETWINNING GREECE page and I was very happy that many fellow colleagues saw our beautiful work.
Our school website is under construction but when it is fixed our Etwinning project will be available too.

STEP 3 - Meeting primary-secondary classes, IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio, Italy - eTwinning Day, May the 9th

Classes 5°B - Sant'Andrea and 1°B - Colle di Val d'Elsa decided to celebrate the eTwinning Day working together on the story FRIENDS

  • The students of the two classes were divided into 5 groups.

  • They read the text together and discussed the possible ending.

  • Each group created a final sentence.

  • Eventually, the students voted their favourite sentence.

  • The chosen sentences were written in the shared ppt.

  • The students read the sentences written by the partner classes and compared perspectives.

We also celebrated browsing the eTwinning portal and watching the different activities realized by the European schools for the eTwinning Day.

At the end of the meeting, we watched the video we created with our partners and ate some sweets. It was a great eTwinning Day!

Europe Day and eTwinning Day - OŠ Rudolfa Strohala Lokve, Croatia

My seventh-graders made this poster to celebrate Europe Day and eTwinning Day. It occupies the central point on the pinboard devoted to 9 May celebrations. My students' works form a heart punctuated by 12 yellow stars. We are on a field trip tomorrow, so we decided to celebrate this important day one day early.

The pinboard is in the hall for all the students, teachers and other staff to see and read, next to the English classroom.
