E-Twinning "Stories to heal": Dissemination - IC2 Poggibonsi - Class 3C/D (Italy)

This has been my first time, I mean I had never taken part in an E-Twinning project before. We have worked hard throughout all the school year, but it was worth!!The title was "Stories to heal" that means it was focused on reading and on the importance of reading in the students' lifelong learning process.

Students were given meaningful stories and short  extracts to read and discuss. This has been very engaging and stimulating.

The project has been divided into 4 steps:

- STEP 1: "WHO AM I?" Students read "The Sorting Hat" chapter from Harry Potter; this is when studens at Hogwarts magic school are sorted into the four different houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each house represents values and qualities which should match students’ personalities. My aim was to offer students a good range of useful adjectives to be used to write their  introductions on the blog page.

- STEP 2: "WHAT IS INSIDE ME? MY FEARS AND HOPES" : Students were asked to write down their fears and hopes. We even had the possibility to arrange on line events and share them with our partners in Greece and Croatia.

- STEP 3: "ME AND THE OTHERS": Students read a meaninful story with the missing ending. They had to write down the missing final sentence and share their ideas on a shared presentation.

- STEP 4: "ME AND MY FUTURE": Students were given an empty orb to be filled in with three pictures representing their future in 10 years' time.

Working on this project has had a profound impact on my students:

  1. Cultural Awareness: Students have engaged with peers from different countries, learning about different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles.

  2. Language Skills: Communication with international partners has improved their language skills since students had the possibility to practice conversational skills and gain confidence in using foreign languages.

  3. Collaboration: E-Twinning has encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and project-based learning, where students could use their creativity and immagination.

  4. Digital Skills: Participants has used online tools, platforms, and communication channels and have developed the digital skills essential for the modern world.

  5. Friendships: E-Twinning has created friendships. Students and teachers have been connected beyond borders, sharing experiences and building lifelong relationships.

I can definitely say that E-Twinning has been an enriching educational experience which has conncetd students and teachers from all over Europe. Through online collaboration, we all have been engaged in joint projects, cultural exchanges, and shared learning.
