Stories to heal - Quality Label
Let's play together! :-)
Dissemination activity - Szegedi Orczy István Általános Iskola, Hungary
STEP 4 - Hungary, Szegedi Orczy István Általános Iskola
STEP 4 - THE ORB: collaborative work
A group of students from the partner school realized this video with MovieMaker.
Not all of the orbs are in the video of course, but this product represent our reflection: we notice that in our future we see similar things even if we come from different countries.
These things have to do with what we found in our readings and during the steps of our project: personal fulfillment, relationships, hopes and... travels. As adults we dream of being European citizens or better, citizens of the world.
STEP 4 - me and my future, IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio, primary and secondary
As well as the "boomerang" activity, we worked of course on the common reading chosen by the partners (Harry Potter, the orb).
We decided to introduce the topic of "what I see in my future" starting with a reflection on the importance of memory. For this reason, we watched the video "A message for my grandchild. And for the rest of Europe" by the European Parliament.
June the 6th, online meeting Hungary - Italy (IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio primary and secondary classes)
On June the 6th, the partner classes of Hungary and Italy (IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio) met to celebrate the end of the project and of the school year.
It was a fun, colorful, chatty (and pretty noisy!) meeting. We sang in a choir the national anthems of the different countries, we sang some popular songs about friendship, we danced, waved our flags (...and even discussed our readings, of course).
It was definitely one happy moment of reading & wellbeing at school.
Thank you everybody.
STEP 3 - me and others: Have you filled a bucket today?, IC2 "Arnolfo di Cambio" secondary - Italy
As well as working on the fable "Friends", together with our Twins of primary school, we also reflected, with the help of our English Teacher, on HAVE YOU FILLED A BUCKET TODAY?, another of the stories that we chose together with our partners (see here).
Here's how we worked on the story:
- we read the story (in English)
- we watched the video on youtube
- we discussed it (in English): how can you fill somebody elses's bucket?
- we exchanged ideas
- in groups of three, we chose one common idea and eventually created a poster

DISSEMINATION - OŠ RUDOLFA STROHALA LOKVE
The pinboard just outside the English classroom often offered up to date information about the project "Stories to heal - reading for wellbeing" to the teachers, students and visitors of our school. Here are two examples of recent collaborative activities on Step 4 of the project and the Day of Europe project:
INTERNET SAFETY - OŠ RUDOLFA STROHALA LOKVE
The students did my Wordwall quiz on internet safety and discussed the dangers of unsafe use of the internet. They also compared their experiences so far with internet use and came up with some additional ideas about how to take precautions when using it.
STEP 4 - ME AND MY FUTURE (OŠ RUDOLFA STROHALA LOKVE - CROATIA)
My students and I embraced the idea of Harry Potter as the starting point on their work in Step 4 of the project: thinking about their own future in ten years from now and then trying to express their wishes and predictions into words. In the end we put our work on the "Orb" on the pinboard in the hall just outside the English classroom for other students and teachers to see and read.
E-Twinning "Stories to heal": Dissemination - IC2 Poggibonsi - Class 3C/D (Italy)
This has been my first time, I mean I had never taken part in an E-Twinning project before. We have worked hard throughout all the school year, but it was worth!!The title was "Stories to heal" that means it was focused on reading and on the importance of reading in the students' lifelong learning process.
Students were given meaningful stories and short extracts to read and discuss. This has been very engaging and stimulating.
The project has been divided into 4 steps:
- STEP 1: "WHO AM I?" Students read "The Sorting Hat" chapter from Harry Potter; this is when studens at Hogwarts magic school are sorted into the four different houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each house represents values and qualities which should match students’ personalities. My aim was to offer students a good range of useful adjectives to be used to write their introductions on the blog page.
- STEP 2: "WHAT IS INSIDE ME? MY FEARS AND HOPES" : Students were asked to write down their fears and hopes. We even had the possibility to arrange on line events and share them with our partners in Greece and Croatia.
- STEP 3: "ME AND THE OTHERS": Students read a meaninful story with the missing ending. They had to write down the missing final sentence and share their ideas on a shared presentation.
- STEP 4: "ME AND MY FUTURE": Students were given an empty orb to be filled in with three pictures representing their future in 10 years' time.
Working on this project has had a profound impact on my students:
Cultural Awareness: Students have engaged with peers from different countries, learning about different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles.
Language Skills: Communication with international partners has improved their language skills since students had the possibility to practice conversational skills and gain confidence in using foreign languages.
Collaboration: E-Twinning has encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and project-based learning, where students could use their creativity and immagination.
Digital Skills: Participants has used online tools, platforms, and communication channels and have developed the digital skills essential for the modern world.
Friendships: E-Twinning has created friendships. Students and teachers have been connected beyond borders, sharing experiences and building lifelong relationships.
I can definitely say that E-Twinning has been an enriching educational experience which has conncetd students and teachers from all over Europe. Through online collaboration, we all have been engaged in joint projects, cultural exchanges, and shared learning.
STEP 4: Me and my Future - IC2 Poggibonsi - class 3C/D (Italy)
Step 4 was about future. As suggested we read a short extract from chapter 15 of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and we watched the short clip on Youtube.
Then each student was given an empty orb to be filled in with 3 pictures representing their life in 10 years.
Next we collected all their drawings in an ebook and we converted it in the following video.
Enjoy watching and reading!!
In the end I asked my students to write their own ideas and hopes in the collaborative forum section on the blog.
This was a good opportunity to share everything with their partners from all over Europe and wish all of them the best for their future!
STEP 4- ME AND MY FUTURE - SAINT JOSEPH PRIMARY SCHOOL-PEFKI**GREECE
After reading the text and watching the extract of the film with Professor Trelawney and Harry, they coloured and drew their orbs.
DISSEMINATION
Online Safety - IC2 "Arnolfo di Cambio", Italy
Online Safety - IC2 Poggibonsi - class 3C/D (Italy)
Tuesday, June 4th
Today we decided to dabate about the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet.
We all agree there are many benefits to connecting online, but are students and teenagers in general, aware of its potential harms?
Class 3C/D took two quizzes to find how how much they know about E-Safety Rules.
STEP 4 - Me and my future: a boomerang for my future (primary and lower secondary classes IC2 Arnolfo di Cambio)
May, Monday the 20th
Class 1° B (secondary) and Class 5° B primary met in order to work together on STEP 4 of our project: we were ready to read for our future!
We started the reflection reading the poem below. Then, the students where paired (do you remember? each secondary student paired with a primary student at the beginning of the project). They draw and painted a boomerang writing on it the words or sentences they wanted to throw to their future.
We eventually shared our words and made a poster out of our boomerang.
Another beautiful eTwinning day!
I throw in the future something new, so when the future comes, I'll find it. I throw in the future something good, something mine, so when the future comes, I'll be there.
Internet Safety-Aydanur Ay
From kids to grandparents to business professionals, online threats can affect anyone. Knowing the rules of the internet should be a top priority. From this point of view, we worked on e-safety rules.
Here are some of our works
First,we watched a video about e-safety
https://youtu.be/GgdK2rdJTrE?si=krvsCstzOJqQfXDb
Then we had a quiz to check what we've learned.
