STEP 1- Greece, Reading our first stories

 I AM ENOUGH by Grace Byers 

and CHI SONO IO by Gianni Rodani

First we read "Chi sono io?" the story of  a little boy, Toto, who was so eager to find out WHO IS HE and kept asking his family, teacher and all people around him until he was satisfied and soooo happy that he was so many things...

My kids loved his curiosity and repetition of all the things he found out for himself that....they started repeating them selves the words in a loud voice as if they were the little ToTo!! 

"A figlio, a bambino, a fratello, nipote, cugino,..."

They even learnt a few Italian words by doing so!!! 

The second story "I am enough" was about  loving yourself, celebrating your differences and showing respect to  others. Again my students liked it because they saw themselves in every page and started to realise that they have more in common with each other than differences.

I made them a Questionnaire and told them to answer any question they want and I was very happy and touched from the personal things they answered. 

I also asked them to draw a heart or a sun  and put on  its rays/lines (spidergram) some characteristics of their character. They did a beautiful job!
