STEP 1 - Scuola Primaria Sant'Andrea, Italy

In this first step, "Who am I?", we analyzed a peculiar aspect of our identity: our personality.

  • We read "Chi sono io?" by Gianni Rodari.
  • The students drew the characters and then they introduced themselves to their partners. They commented on the others' posts.
  • We had a Meet with the Hungarian kids, where we discussed our readings and activities. During the meeting, we organized simple small activities (drawings, questions etc.) with their Twins (one Italian primary student + one Italian secondary student + one Hungarian student).

Then, we had some extra time for this activity as the partners needed more time, so we decided to do something more on our own! Since we were studying the Greek myths, me studied the different aspects of the Gods' personalities. We read some of the most popular myths and legends and tried to understand the Gods' dispositions and characteristics. Each kid chose the God of Goddess they most identified with. They even chose a "God best-friend" who balanced the extremes of their personalities. In order for the students to identify with their God/Goddess and get to describe their personality, they were given this guidelines and this presentation.

We also reflected on the fact that we have a Greek partner from Athens. We decided to organize a meeting with the Greek class and my students are really looking forward to it!

We created a padlet with our God-personalities.
